2025 Books I read Tally

Hello Reader,

Time for the yearly recap of the books I read in 2025.

My goal for 2025 was 50 books. I read 64! Highest month: October & December I read 10 for each month.

My ratings were: 12 - 5 stars, 40 - 4 stars, 10 - 3 stars and 2 - 2 stars.

Here's the 12 books that I gave 5 stars to:

What the Wife Knew by Darby Kane

The Briar Club by Kate Quinn

Code Name Helene by Ariel Lawhon

Vera Wong Guide to Snooping on a Dead Man by Jesse Suanto

Heartwood by Amity Gaige

The Story She Left Behind by Patti Callahan Henry

The Road of Bones by Demi Winters

The Diamond Eye by Kate Quinn

The Matchmaker's Gift by Lynda Cohen Loigman

The Proven Ground by Michael Connelly

The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches by Sangu Mandanna

My all time favaorite for the year, The Briar Club. This book has stayed with me all year and I highly recommend reading it.

Finally, I mentioned in my last year's recap that I have taken a shine to audio books. You can really multi-task when listening to audio books. 49 were on audio and 15 hardcover. If you haven't heard of the Libby app, check it out. It links to your library card and you get of your books for free.

That's it. Happy reading!

Michelle

Millions of people worldwide take a fish oil supplement. If you do and you experience fishy burps after, it is more than likely your supplement is rancid. Fish oil contains highly unsaturated fats (EPA and DHA) which are naturally prone to oxidation when...

Hello Reader, As I've been emptying canning jars left and right lately, I think back to the summer months when I worked my butt off putting up this food to enjoy during the cold months. Reader, have you ever opened a jar filled with something you grew or made yourself? Knowing it came straight from your own backyard—that you planted it, tended it, and preserved it with your own hands—there’s no middleman involved. It’s an incredibly satisfying feeling and a true sense of food security. Each...

Hello Reader, Yes, still here but really enjoying the down time. A quick email for you today. Today, I made my dad's homemade caramel recipe. Fond memories of my childhood. Of course one of the ingredients, Karo syrup. I haven't used this stuff for a very long time. I wanted to pass along a tip. Some of you may know it but here we are. I substituted Golden Syrup for the Karo syrup. You can also use Brown Rice Syrup. Tastes amazing and a healthier substitute. So as you bake for the holidays...
