2025 Canning Totals


Hello Reader,

As I've been emptying canning jars left and right lately, I think back to the summer months when I worked my butt off putting up this food to enjoy during the cold months.

Reader, have you ever opened a jar filled with something you grew or made yourself? Knowing it came straight from your own backyard—that you planted it, tended it, and preserved it with your own hands—there’s no middleman involved. It’s an incredibly satisfying feeling and a true sense of food security. Each year, I challenge myself to grow more, preserve more, and do it even better than the year before

Here are my canning totals this year. Yes, some of these items we do sell to our customers.

  • Jams/Jellies - 468 (various sizes)
  • Relishes - 79 pints
  • Pickles - 72 pints
  • Pickled Beets - 57 (we ran out!!) Not a good beet year for us
  • Kidney beans - 15 pints
  • Broth - 13 1/2 quarts
  • Lemonade - 10 pints (two flavors)
  • Spaghetti sauce - 41 quarts
  • Soup - 7 quarts
  • Juice - 26 1/4 quarts
  • Venison Burger (like Hamburger Helper) 15 quarts
  • Lard - 4 1/2 quarts
  • Apple pie filling - 14 quarts

We are working on something behind the scenes. Hoping it will make some customers happy this summer. More info to come...
