Maple Rush (not to be confused with gold rush)


All you locals know it’s maple month here in New Hampshire and last weekend it was maple weekend. Everywhere you look it’s maple this and maple that. We no longer participate in maple weekend but it doesn’t mean we aren’t creating maple.

We have passed the half-way mark on the maple syrup we’ve made so far this season. If the weather holds and the trees don’t bud out, we should surpass last year’s amount.

New Item Alert

We’ve put together a maple sampler gift box. It contains 3 oz. of maple nuts, 2 1/2 oz. of maple sugar and 3.4 oz. bottle of maple syrup. We are testing the waters on this one and will have a limited amount for sale at Gilmanton’s Own this Saturday from 10-4. If there seems to be a demand for these, we will continue making them.

The birds are chirping and it seems spring is just around the corner. We have one tiny bit of snow left Chin up! The days are getting longer…
